Christmas Celebration

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. Finally, it is almost end of the year. Christmas is one more month to go. In a blink on an eye, i have work in KPMG for one year already. Normally, during christmas, my department will have gift exchange activities. We will draw lots to see which person we need to buy present for. When we buy the present, we will put it under the christmas tree. Want to guess which present is for me ???

When i went to shopping malls, there are christmas decorations everywhere. I can even listen to christmas songs in the retail outlet. The decorations is so nice, luckily i bought a new phone with camera, so that i can take pictures wherever i go. I wish to visit Pavilion soon, as i heard from my friends that the decorations in Pavilion is very nice.

Europe Trip - 1st day

London

This is the first time i'm taking Air Asia X to London. The flight journey took around 14 hours. Overall, the seat is comfortable, the food is better than Etihad and for entertainment, we just need to pay extra RM30. It is better than what i expected.

When i reach London, it was already 5pm, and i took a coach to Victoria Coach Station. The traffic is heavy on Saturday, it takes 2 hours for me to arrive at Victoria Coach Station. Finally, i get to meet my lou gong =).

At night, i follow kuang yaw and his parents to China Town in London dinner. I get to eat 三烧饭 which i miss the most in London.

The next day , i went to Lyceum Theatre at Wellington Street to watch The Lion King.The Lion King is a disney show where i watched when i was small, and until now, i will still watch it. The whole show is totally breathtaking and amazing from start to finish, especially the opening moment when they sang circle of life. The stage setup and costumes were astoundingly effective and the voices were brilliant. I hope they will have a world tour to Malaysia and i surely will go and watch it again .

At night, after having dinner, we took a bus to Gatewick Airport where we a spend a night there waiting for our flight to Paris .

The story of our own hand

At the age of 20, you will see your hand very smooth, without wrinkles. However, when you reach the age of 50, you look at your own hand again, it will be full of wrinkles. This is the evidence of aging.

But , think of it another way, you do most of the stuff with your hand (i.e. work, care for people, hold hands with your other half). The older you are, the more wrinkles your hand have, the more experience you gain, the more wisdom you have.

Take a diary for an example. At first, before you use your diary,it is new, empty. As day pass by, you will write down all your feelings , experience in your diary. After 10 years, it had become old, the pages turn yellow, and some of the pages are torn out, however, inside is full of writing, full events you gained from your life, your surrounding and environment.

Therefore, don't judge a book by its cover. When you are at the age of 50 , don't just that you are getting old, your face full of wrinkles and not pretty or handsome anymore. Think of the experience, knowledge you gained. Think of all the good things happening throughout your whole life. Think of how many person you had helped or cared. We must think optimistic, think of the bright side then life will be meaningful....

Sungai Jagong , Kedah

Today when i was going through my friend's blog i saw this place.
It was so amazing. That i plan to go to this place for my next outing. I surf through the web for this place. However, i'm been cheated , no wonder it is called Sungai Jagong ( corn).
The waterfall is actually located in Croatia, Plitvicka Jezera National Park.

What a beautiful scene. Hope i can go this place sometimes.

23rd November (my birthday)

Its my birthday...I'm 22 years old . Getting one year older already. Its so sad~~

My "lou gong" will be absent for my birthday celebration this year. However, he say his heart will always be with me ...( aww...so sweet)

My ex-housemate, Siow Yiing, Suchen, Choon Chiao, and my friends from Uk, Chan fei and Francis come to celebrate my birthday. It was like a gathering for us. We didnt see each other for so long， around 6 mths. All of them have started working and i listen to them talking about their working life.

Last but not least , the most surprising part. Towards the end of the day, my bf called me and say his brother is outside my house. I didnt think much at first, and then i saw him holding a bouquet of roses.
I was so happy when i saw the roses. There was 22 roses all together which is the same as my age. I was so touch. I didn't know that he can be so romantic. I end up hugging the roses the whole night and taking a lot of photos of it .

Graduation

Finally , 4 years of college life had ended ...I'm going to step into another stage of my life ( working life). Last Saturday, i had my advance diploma convocation in Tarc.

My mom and dad ...a happy family, but my sister is not around ..My audit tutor , Ms Geh. Thanks for your patient in teaching us. Without you , i will not be aware of my passion towards audit.All my ex-classmates...Happy graduate and all the best .

Back in Malaysia

I'm back in Malaysia at last...been spending 5 months in UK. Time passes so fast..it seems like i just reach uk and the next day i'm going to depart back to Malaysia. I miss the weather in uk so much. When i arrive in Uk the first time, the weather feels like Genting Highlands. When i'm going back to Malaysia, the weather is around 4 to 5 degrees at night and 9 to 10 degrees in the afternoon.

I miss Uk so much...I like the food, the people, the weather, especially i get to spend time with my "lou gong" everyday. But now I'm already back in Malaysia. I need to start study for my December exam and prepare for working life. The life in UK is like a sweet dream for me and now i had to wake up...Hope i will be back in UK soon....

Its Snowing....

2day when i check the weather forecast in BBC, it forecast that there will be snow in the afternoon. I was looking forward to it. Every time i will look out to the window to see if there is really snow. I'm such a lucky person. I saw snow flakes felling down from the sky together with the rain at 3.30pm. I was so excited and started yelling and running outside in short pants(it was almost 1 degree outside). This is the first time in my life i saw snow. The snow last for around one hour. All the trees and the roof is covered in snow.

Bath

Bath is my next station in UK. Bath is one of the world heritages and is famous for its roman bath, where it is the only natural hot spring in UK. Bath is also called the city of romance. Maybe it is because the city is located beside a river and it is very romantic to walk beside the river and the scenery is astonishing .

When I arrive in Bath, I really amaze with the architecture of the buildings. It is a wonderful place and I will surely recommend everyone to go to Bath if they have the chance. The first place we went is the roman bath. It is very well preserve and there are still hot spring in it. The water can rise up to 47 degrees. I also manage to drink the hot spring water. Everyone says it got a weird taste but I think it is not bad. We spend almost 3 hours inside it until the place is closed.

The next day we went for free walking tour which is organized by the local resident. The tour guide is a old man that live in Bath since he is 9 years old. They bring us walk around the city of Bath and tell us many story and legend behind each building. The first place is the Bath abbey. From the outside of the building, I mange to see many angels climbing the staircase and there is an olive tree where there is a crown stuck in the middle. All of the building in Bath is made of lime stone where it shines when there is sunlight. We are very lucky to have sunny weather during the two days we spent at Bath

The next place he shows us is the oldest building in Bath which is famous for its Sally Lun’s bun. I got buy the bun for a taste. It was very huge and the inside is very light and fluffy and it taste great with butter. Next we went to the Royal Victoria Park where there is the famous Royal Cresent and The Circus. The tour guide told us that a famous celebrity( Nicholas Cage) lives in one of the unit.
During the evening, we take a walk in the garden enjoying the warm breeze and looking at the sunset. I feel relax when i'm in Bath, enjoying the nice scenery and the nice building.

Travelling around UK

After finish my exam, me and kuang yaw plan to travel around UK and Europe. I planned to wait until kuang yaw 's visa application had approve before we travel to Europe. However, i just receive a bad news that the visa application may take 5 weeks or more. My dream to Europe tour had vanished. Haiz...totally no mood already.

But anyway, i will travel around UK to compensate for the Europe tour. Then i will be back again in UK for Europe tour ( kuang yaw had promise that he will sponsor all the expenses for me to come to UK and Europe tour, hehe...hope he can keep the promise). Our first stop is to London and then to Bath . Then after that, we totally have not plan anything yet. Finally i get to discover the life of backpacking, which is totally not fun. I will keep on updating my trip around UK when i got the chances ....

Gift for myself

As for the 300 pound i won, i plan to get myself a super big Patrick. Its my dream present since I'm young. But do not know why, until now i still haven't receive any Patrick as a present. Hehe, can't wait to go back Malaysia and buy it . It's so cute but my bf says its ugly, that why he didn't buy for me =( . My bed will be full of dolls , luckily my room are big enough to stuff all my dolls inside.

I'm sick

I'm sick again ...sore throat, coughing and cold...

Maybe due to insufficient sleep and continuous liquor drinking and steamboat causing my sickness to worsen and unable to recover. It is so suffering to keep coughing in the middle of the night. At first, i was reluctant to take medicine, but my sickness are getting more and more serious ...I'm force to take coughing medicine. Hopefully i can recover soon...I do not know why i get sick easily when i'm in Uk, is it due to the weather or because i'm away from my family and there are no people to take care of me...But thanks to my friend that left chrysanthemum tea for me, at least it can help to ease my sore throat (too bad you are not around to cook for me ...).

Blogging Competition

It was such a shock for me when Andrew announce my name in the farewell party yesterday. I did not expect that i can win the first prize. I just hope at least i can get 3rd or 2nd prize. I thought i was in a dream, a happy dream that i do not want to wake up and now , i still feel like i'm in a dream.

I get big applause, congrats from my course mate when i was walking down the stairs. Thank you very much ...Its the first time i get awarded for my hard word, first time i get to win a competiton. Competition is not about luck, its about how much effort you put in. Bout the comment , i didnt really listen to it. Anyone who still rmb the comment can tell me plz...I think Andrew got mention about the photos are very nice...About the 300 pound, how am i going to spend it ....Hmm...mayb i can frame the cheque cox it was such a good memory for me. Bt i'm til thinking...Any suggestion ?? Haha, i til feel that i haven't wake up...i til rmb clearly the moment when Andrew announce my name...Some1 faster wake me up!!!

Moody day

Today when i step out from my house, there is a lot of forge. Normally i can see the mountain from my house, but today the visibility is very poor. At first i thought it is due to pollution( made me think of Malaysia weather). But the weather starting to get colder and its starts to rain. Its such a nice weather to sleep and makes me feel lazy . I told myself, i need to finish my assignment and start to study . I end up watching "Beauty and the Beast", makes me feel like a children again..Happily ever after,it is every girls dream...

I think few days staying at home makes me feel moody and boring. Hopefully tomorrow after submit the assignment, i can go and take a walk in the city even it is just window shopping. Let myself to relax for a while...But Nvm, at least i got two gingerbread man as my breakfast ..=) they look so cute and my friends say I'm so cruel, eating such cute stuff . First, eat their hands, next eat their legs and lastly eat their head...Haha..i feel like a monster ...(study still too bored already, starting to post weird stuff)

Study week

Now i'm having two weeks of study leave. We should used it for revising our syllabus, but we end up spending the whole time rushing for assignment. There are 4 assignment that will be due by the 1st week of September. Most of the student use the 1st week of study week to travel to Scotland and suddenly , the whole Charlotte Court become so quiet. But time passes so fast for the week, without noticing, all of them are back. Charlotte Court becomes normal already. Everyone is rushing for assignment especially for reflective writing.

Talking about reflective writing, its is mostly want us to reflect what had we learnt from the 3 months in UK. Actually the main purpose for creating a blog is not to enter the competition. It is for me to remember the life i had spent in UK. I am very grateful that i have the chance to experience the study life in UK where other people don't. Besides, it will also help me in writing the reflective writing. At least i will be able to remember what had happent for the last 3 months.

I hope i can quickly finish my assignment so i have the time to do my own revision. I hope i can finish the reflective writing by this weekend.

ACCA resutls

Early this morning , ACCA results had been release. I had been waiting nervously for the result. I keep on telling myself, if i fail the papers, i should not be sad cause i already predict it. I did not put in much effort during the exam as my heart belongs to UK. I could not concentrate on what i had study. But i still hope that i can pass all the papers.

Around 7am in Uk , one of my friend told me that the result can be check thru ACCA website. Before i open the result, i quickly call up Kuang Yaw to accompany me. The result is what i had expected ( i pass audit and fail performance management）．I was very sad and tears keep on dropping. Luckily , Kuang yaw was there to console me. He keep on encourage me to stay strong and try again next time. He even encourage me in his msn display messege--"U r the best in my heart!!Dun give up". Thank you "lougong", u are always there when i need you...(sorry, i made you skip class )

I will just be sad for the day and the next day i will stand up and fight again !! Congratulations to those who pass their exam and to those who did not pass, let us work hard together and pass it all.

Negotiation Skills

During FDM , we were given a case where both the company have intention to merge. In the seminar class, each of us is given a role and we need to carry out a meeting to discuss the partnership. I was given a role as the observer (i'm responsible to observe the way my group member discuss during the meeting and observe whether is there any conflict arises or difficulties in the process of arriving at an agreement.)

From my observation, some of the people tend to be dominant, and some of them tend to be more tolerated. Usually conflict will arises when one of the parties are not satisfy with the condition and terms. It is very fun to observe how people negotiate especially when my group members are arguing over small things.

As our lecturer said, negotiation skills are very important in the real world. It happens around us, not only for business purpose but also in our social life. A case in point is where should we go for the weekends or what should we eat for dinner. The best outcome is to have a win-win situation; however it usually does not happen in practical life. Normally there will be a party that will tolerate and accept the offer.

In the end, I think that this session is useful as it prepares for our future. Although it will be more complicated in the real life and we are just given a simple case to discuss. However, I am able to get the feel before I enter into the working life.

Kinder Scout

Today, our plan is to go to Kinder Scout. My legs are so pain after walking the whole day in Castleton, hope i can finish the route in Kinder Scout. Our plan is to take a train to Edale and head to Kinder Downfall and Kinder Reservoir. I did some research over the internet and it say that we need 6 hours and 30 minutes to finish the route.
When we arrived at Edale, the first stop is to go to tourist information center to get the map ( prevent us from getting loss). We were asked to buy a map which i think is useless...but at the end we also buy a map. Actually, we just need to walk around and ask for direction which is more useful that looking at the map ( too messy and confusing..hehe..i'm poor in reading map and have no sense of direction...better to rely on guys=P).

This is the map of Edale town and ways to go to Kinder Scout and we just follow the map. We follow Pennine way to head to the top. Its is such a long journey and there are many "bomb" (lamb shit) that we need to be careful not to step on it. On the way, we met a long of "ang mo" climbing the mountain also. We ended up just follow them...The scenery here is nicer than Castleton. We are surrounded by a lot of mountains, trees , river and waterfall.
Then we need to climb up the hill thru Jacobs Ladder. The journey is so long and tiring. Luckily i have the determination to reach to the top, if not i scared i will give up halfway.

Finally, i reach the end of Jacobs Ladder. I already lost counted of how many stairs i walked. I am exhausted and feel like finding a place to sit down. However, i know that if i sit down and rest, i will feel lazy to continue the journey so, i give up resting and continue to the top. My legs already feeling numb but i just keep on walking like a robot.At last, i reach the top of Kinder Scout. The mountain is higher than Man tor and i am able to see Castleton from here. The top is very cold until there is no plants that can survive. There is only rocks and sands and some grass. Me and Kuang yaw have our lunch here, and it was so cold and windy that i almost froze to death. We hide behind the stone and have our lunch (bread with ham ) while waiting for our friends to reach the top. After lunch , we head towards Kinder Downfall. However, it was raining too heavily and we are unable to find the road path and plan to head back before we get lost。
On the way downhill, i got pass through a lot of stones and some of the stones even looks like a face. The stones are so huge and i look so small standing beside it. It takes us less than 3 hours to reach Edale cause we follow the short cut way ( walking down the hill with 45degree radian ).

Have a nice journey 2day ...but i miss the most important part which is Kinder Downfall. I plan to go again during September with another group of friends.

Castleton day trip

Our lecture, Mr Denzil Watson always recommend us to go to Castleton. Since that day, I have been planning to go to Castleton.

When kuang yaw come Sheffield, i plan to bring him to Castleton for the first day. Me, kuang yaw , Chien Hui and Jing ying depart from bus station around 11am and reach Castleton around 12pm. Castleton is located inside peak district( one of the national park in UK), no wonder on our journey to Castleton , i saw a lot of mountains. The scenery is astonishing and breathtaking. I also saw a lot of sheep and cows eating grass. At last, i reach Castleton. First time i'm sitting on a double-decker bus. I can see a lot of wonderful scenary from the top but will get dizzy after a while.
Its lunch time ...I wake up early in the morning to fried rice. Not really tasty , but overall still can eat cox i'm super starving. We found a nice place near the foothill and settle down for lunch. Its so relax to have our lunch while appreciate the mother nature.After lunch , i went for one of the attraction in Castleton , which is Treak Cliff Cavern. Inside the cave got a lot of blue john stone and stalagmite.It is very cold and wet inside the cave. When we reach the middle of the cave, all of the lights are switch off for us to experience the mining workers when they are digging the stone. It was totally dark and we can't even see anything.

After the cave tour, we headed to our next attraction which is man tor. Its is the highest mountain in Castleton and its takes us 1 hour to get to the top. yeah..i reach the top . Its so scary to sit on top of the stone , especially the wind is so strong. Scared i will be blown away. When i reach the top , i feel so delight and satisfy.All the tired journey up to the top was worth it. From the top , i can see the whole Castleton city and also Kinder Scout.

Its time to head back to Sheffield...what a tired journey .....and tomorrow i'm til going to Kinder Scout.

Finally, my bf plan to come Sheffield ...I was waiting for this moment very long , since i always go to Liverpool and find him. Yippie...I'm so exciting. Got so many places i plan to bring him go . (i.e. Chatsworth, Castleton, Kinder Scout...etc). However, so many places to go but too little time. But I'm very happy that i am able to show him the place i studied and live when i'm in UK. I think that Sheffield is a very peaceful and beautiful city and the people are more friendly compare to others places in UK.

Warwick castle

The last trip that i will be joining with ah choy( our senior) is to Warwick castle. After that will stay at home and concentrate on my studies and assignment .

The journey to Warwick castle took us around 3 hours. I woke up early in the morning to fried rice ( with bacon and lamb) for my lunch . Look nice ?? I got a teacher who teaches me how to cook fried rice(thank you very much)...=P

Finally, we reach Warwick castle. I always saw castle from movies such as harry potter, Lord of the Rings...etc..i was so curious of how the castle look from inside. Castle is a very romantic place where king and queen , prince and princess stay happily ever after. ( haha, shd stop day dreaming..) I still rmb the show "Enchanted" where there is no happily ever after but happily never after. This is the entrance of Warwick castle

Wow, it looks magnificent from the outside. I wish my house can be as big as the castle. Then i can rare a lot of animals and i can change bedroom every night.Its actually a real sword and very heavy.I'm wearing a clown hat which look ridiculous but my friend say i looks cute...Me and Siew Hsia in Warwick castle...

Those were the events i saw in Warwick castle. Some of the events are quite boring, they talk more than they act and their British accent are hard to understand. The most interesting events is the "birds of prey". There are many types of birds such as owl, eagle which are used in old times to deliver message .

The beautiful scenery surrounding Warwick castle. I can't even stop taking photos whenever i go. Haha, i end up with 2gb of photos just on a day trip to Warwick castle.

When i went in , i really get freak out when i saw those statues. It really looks like a real people. Every1 know that i'm really scared of dark and ghost. When i see those statue, i keep thinking of a movie called "House of Wax". I scared they will suddenly move and look at me. Especially the place is quite dark...haha, i know i'm a coward. Luckily my friend didn't scared me, if not i sure will scream then sure very embarrass.

Finally, its already 5pm and i'm on my way back to Sheffield. I'm so tired and i slept and thru the whole journey back. Overall, i was satisfied with the trip. Nice scenery, nice weather, and its quite entertaining with all those summer events.
Next time i hope to go to Alnwick Castle, where harry potter film were shot (I'm a great fan of Harry potter ) ....

Celebration

2day is the last presentation with my group members. After that we will be changing another group again...

During lecture, Mr John had let us watch a movie regarding report writing. Actually report writing seems easy, we just need to follow the few steps.

Objective
Organize the points into related group
Identify the 4P ( position, problems, probability, and proposal)
Try to avoid jargon and use plain english, short paragraph and short sentences
Use heading and subheading. Have clear spacing , layout and margins.
Package the report by using summary, reference and bibliography.

Seems easy rite..But i need to wait til i really asked to write a report only i will discover whether it is easy or hard.

Around 1.30pm, our presentation is going to start. I'm getting nervous as i'm the second presenter. We arrived early and manage to watch the previous group presenting (made me more nervous, should not do that another time). I always have stage fright when i'm presenting and will tend to speak fast and forget what i'm going to present. During my presentation, i was really upset as the lecture didn't pay attention to what i'm saying and just do their things. ( Izzit my presentation style is not attractive enough or they are actually listening??) Finally , at the end of the presentation, we were ask question by the two lectures, and guess what, we can't even answer one . They ask about the future cash flow of the company, will it able to continue operating in the next year? and they even ask about the item in the balance sheet..(Wow, the worst thing is we do not have the balance sheet beside us and the lend us their balance sheet..)
We really didn't prepare well for this presentation. This is the worst presentation in my whole life..=(

The Snow Queen

Recently when i was surfing thru youtube, i saw a movie called "Snow Queen". At first i thought it was a movie for children as it was shot based on Hans Christian Andersen's story. So i was watching it while doing my assignment and didn;t pay much attention to it...Until i heard the soundtrack of the movie-->"The Two of Us Will Always be One" by Jim Guttridge. This song is really nice which made me starting to pay attention to the movie ...( made me stay up late to finish my assignment ..hehe)

The story was about the love between Kal and Greda and they had faced many obstacles before they were able to be 2gether. Kal is kidnapped by the snow queen and in order for Greda to rescue Kal, she need to pass through spring, summer and autumn season before she will be able to reach the snow queen. Winter is always reflected as cold and lonely.Therefore , the snow queen wanted more power to rule the world until only winter season exist.

However, love is magical, and true love can't be separated..Greda finally battled the wicked snow queen in order to save the man she loves. The story is really touching at the end and will watch it again after i fully completed my assignment..
We need to cherish every movement with your love ones and will break every obstacles faced together and like the songs title ...The two of us will always be one.

I manage to find the song and i like it very much until i keep on repeating it these few days...It is a truly recommended movie, hope every1 will like it. That all for today, need to start study my corporate finance..

When i was surfing through the web, i saw a phrase that i think is very touching...
"Don't ever give up if you still wan to try, don't ever wipe your tears if you still want to cry. Don't ever settle for an answer if you still want to know. Don't ever say you don't love him if you can't let go."

We should not give up easily until we had try our best...even if we try our best and we fail, we should not be upset or disappointed as we already did the best we can. I always have this feeling when i receive my results for examination or assignments.

Tomorrow im goin to have presentation, i will try my best and will not give up easily.

LIfe in UK

Without noticing , i had been in UK for alomst a month. Time passes very fast... I was thinking , what had i done when i was in UK , is there any different from Malaysia?
For the past month, i rmb that i was always busy with assignment and discussion. Other than that is busy for trip to Cambridge, Stonehenge and Liverpool...The people i meet and the ppl i communicate with is usually tarcian which is nothing different from Malaysia. I think the only different is the weather, which keep on changing. From sunny to cloudy, from cloudy to raining , and from raining to sunny again. There is a rumors on english man...when they cant find any topic during conversation, they normally will relate to the weather. Finally, now i can understand why ...=)
Then this weekend i will be going to warwick castle...Seems like i don't have the time to spend a weekend resting in my room. Hope i got the chance to rest in the next few weeks..=)

Stonehenge

Last Saturday , i went to Stonehenge which is one of the wonders in the world...I wonder how they are able to carry the stone from so far away, maybe they have modern technology but already extinct..and what is the purpose of building the Stonehenge . Some people say that it is a graveyard, some say that it is built by alien..Until now, it is still a mystery. But, many pieces of the stone is gone ( either it is moved away or being stolen by visitors
This is the actual picture of Stonehenge...Too bad that i can only see the Stonehenge from far away and didn't get to touch the stone.After spending around 2 hours at Stonehenge, we went to Salisbury which is located 30 minutes from Stonehenge. This is the famous cathedral (Salisbury St. Mary's Cathedral)I spend most of the time taking photos on the cathedral as it is the main attractions in Salisbury. Later on the way back to the bus, i saw this interesting thing...Does it look like a turtle and a dragon hugging ? Hehe..If u can think of anything , please leave yr comment..
Overall, the trip is quite tiring as the journey to Stonehenge needs around 4 hours. I think i spend 8 hours sitting in the bus.
But i was able to see one of the wonders of the world, which is worth the trip...

My dining room

After one whole busy week, finally it’s Friday. I am starting to get tired of the non-stop assignment. Today, the “ang mo” at my hostel finally moved out, but they left a lot of rubbish (food, magazine, etc…). I and my housemate spend the whole afternoon cleaning up the kitchen. However, we managed to find a lot of frozen food and cooked it for dinner (fries and chicken nugget). Later when we keep the dining room, we manage to find some decoration for party (i.e. party banner and light). I suggest that we hang up those decorations to make our kitchen more cheerful.

Looking at those decorations made me feel pleased and feeling closer to home. I miss my home a lot. I miss the food, my bed, my cat – Fluffy, my dog - Elmo, and my parents …

I sat in the dinning room for few minutes staring at the wall. Then I went back to my room and prepare for my things to Stonehenge trip tomorrow…

I'm Lost ....

This morning, i went for Financial Decision Making (FDM) lecture. Our lecturer had taught us about reflective writing. Reflective writing is like writing a diary which describes our feelings. The lecture had mention a phrase which i think is very true..."when you stand in front of the mirror, you will see nothing but only yourself." and this is what reflective writing is all about. He also describe human as an acorn. When an acorn fell to the ground, it has two consequences. Whether it will be pluck and eaten or it will turn out to be an oak tree. Therefore, in our life, either we will be successful in the future or we will become a normal person.
Then i started to think ...do i understand about myself , do i know what i want and do i know what i would like to be in the future ?? Then I only notice that I do not have a sense of direction. I’m lost….

Cambridge

After one week arriving in Sheffield, I sign up for my first trip which is Cambridge. The trip cost £14 that only includes transportation fees. Cambridge is a city of university and the most famous university is University of Cambridge. But University of Cambridge has no campus as its university is scatted around Cambridge. We started our journey at 7.30am at Charlotte court and arrived at Cambridge around 10.30am.

When i arrived at Cambridge, we were lead for punting tour at River Cam which cost £4 per person. By taking punting trip, i was able to see the whole city of Cambridge through the river. We got pass through Mathematical Bridge, Queens’ College, Clare College, Trinity College, St.John’s College and Bridge of Sighs. The punting trip takes around 20 minutes but i need to wait for around 1 hour until our turn. However, it is worth taking the trip as we are able to look at the city from different point of view.

The next stop, i went to visit museum which are Zoology museum, Sedgwick museum of Geology and Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology. Zoology museum contains collection of Zoological specimens used for teaching and research. There are displays of marine invertebrates, exotic birds and mammal skeletons, included within a survey of the animal kingdom. It is quite an interesting museum to visit, however i have only 15 minutes to browse through due to waiting for punting trip. I just manage to take photos with those interesting animals such as dinosaurs, preserved animals.

After having a quick lunch ( bread), i went to The Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences. In the museum, there are many fossils, rocks and minerals from around the world and explore more than 550 million years of Earth's history. There were fossils from the age of dinosaurs, marine world, minerals such as crystal and jade and local geology (i.e. volcano, earth).

Later i stop by at market place to buy some souvenir. There got sell a lot of fruits, souvenir, local products, sweets, nuts and many more. I bought some postcards and magnet. Next, i head down to St. John College which is just a stone throw away from market place. The entrance fee for student is £1.70. I was given a map for us to tour around the college. There are three court altogether, which contains accommodation, lectures hall, dining hall. By passing through the river, i was able to see the bridge of sighs. It is a covered bridge which look charming and romantic. The whole tour around St. John College takes us round 2 hours.

Without noticing, it was already 4.30 pm and i need to arrive at bus stop by 4.45pm. I have only 15 minutes to reach the bus stop. Due to time constraints, i decided to take the short cut road back to bus station . However, i lost the way and past through a lot of shopping complex with lots of discount. I should have come here for shopping earlier....

but back to the point, i couldn't find the way to bus station and ask some of the local people for direction. Luckily , when i reach the bus stop , the bus is still waiting for us ...it was already 5.10pm

On the journey back, i was too tired and i slept through the whole journey. When i was awake , i already reach Charlotte court which was 7.30 pm ...

The trip was quite interesting and tiring ...i was impress with the architecture of the buildings and history of the college. I couldn't wait for my next trip which is Liverpool ..
